About Ortahisar
In the heart of Cappadocia, Turkey, discover Ortahisar where traditional village life continues untouched by mass tourism. This quaint village with its cobbled streets is located within walking distance of all major tourist sites like Göreme Open Air Museum and is surrounded by many beautiful valley walks.
Our hotel takes its name from the lemon caves where the consistent cool temperature of the tufa rock enables the fruit to stay fresh and juicy for months. Citrus fruit is brought from the Mediterranean and stored in the lemon caves here.
Another feature of Ortahisar is the craggy rock fortress that dominates the village, but there is so much more to explore here; ask Hakkı to tell you more of the history of the charming village of Ortahisar.
